New XBox, new Forza.

It's actually interesting how the new Forza will come to the next-gen console, but the new Gran Turismo 6 will be for PS3...wonder how it'll turn out.

If the XBox One wasn't going to be so goddamned expensive, this would be a no-brainer. Been a fan of Forza since 2 and each one has gotten better. PLUS: The next iteration of Maple Valley Raceway might be the most epic thing to hit the sim racing world xD

From E3 2013: Driveatar explained

Basically, when you drive in the game, whether it be single player or multiplayer, your driving style is analyzed, saved and sent to other people to race against.

They also mention the game is 60 FPS.

GAF rumors:
#1
All confirmed tonight on Twitch by Dan.

Paints and tunes can still be created, traded and used, but painters and tuners are now paid according to usage, not on an initial selling price (which is now effectively at no cost to the purchaser).
There will still be a way to search for community-created tunes and liveries, but not by using the current Storefront system.
It seems like the Auction House has been completely removed because community tunes and liveries are now free to buy, with the game 'paying' the creators based on how much their creations are used by other players.
The game will 'learn' what kind of paints you like and will direct them to you, make suggestions etc.
It was suggested that Drivatar cars (ie AI) will use community paints/liveries.

Oh, and Dan was unsure about existing wheel support, said he wasn't the best man to ask.

Disappointing news about weather and night, but kudos to Turn 10 for being up front about it now.

Edit: not sure how true this is, but it was hinted by Dan that all material shaders used in the game can be used to paint the car, eg full brushed aluminium finish, full carbon finish. Maybe leather cars? Sounds daft.

Edit 2: ALL cars are Autovista now. This possibly/probably means a vastly reduced car roster from FM4.

Uh-huh. Doesn't sounds good.

Somebody hasn't noticed the fact that Forza4 spanned about 8gb and a bluray has 60gb of capacity. Why would it mean a reduced roster if you have much more space?

Because even though there are 60gb to work with, everything takes up more space when modeled to 1080p instead of 720p resolutions.

I see where you're going, but Forza 4 already ran in 1080p. Also, I see a second bluray happening (with additional content), since they already were in Forza 3 and 4.

Actually, most 360 games (and PS3 games, for that matter) run in 720p and they're just upscaled to 1080p. Forza games are all natively 720p, as far as I know.

Well, at least it's nice to see the people from Out Run 2006's crowd are still getting jobs in this economy.

So has anybody played it yet? Screwattack did an hour of streaming with it.

That is impressive. I don't wanna seem like a total Gran Turismo fanboy here, but I think most people guessed Forza would finally try to pull this crap by now.

Really, even GT has been better than that, and we're expecting improvements in that area for 6 anyway (even if it's as simple as having seasonals by default)... while it does have similar microtransactions now, you're buying actual credits like one of those phone games with the 'unlock now' buttons (which is why the Amazon preorder gives you a million of them... never mind you're better off with the GameStop preorder anyway), which I personally think is tons better than any of those premium currencies.

But maybe I'm just a little too hopeful... we'll see on the 6th. On the other hand, it's not like GT's getting rid of the 'Ring.
There are three factors of consist of a car, wheels, space of residence and motive power. We can move with this convenient tool between 'space A' to 'space B'.
