Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 and Rush Hour for PS1, and Wipeout Fusion for PS2. I am seriously impressed by MTGP2, but seeing how the crew behind later went to make Gran Turismo, I guess it's not too much of a surprise that even their earlier titles are full of quality and content.

Budget galore, not really today, but almost.

Never heard of RPM Tuning before (might have seen it in some bargain bin, though). Wanted Mashed: Fully Loaded and it was a bundle. We'll see...

Got a great deal on a used PS2 Slim, 1 pad and 1 memory card, so I visited Gamestop today to see if they had any used games. Any 3 PS2 games for 39dkk ~ €5

I bought Gran Turismo 4, Ridge Racer V and Dancing Stage Supernova 2. Was hoping they had Burnout 3 but they didn't.

Oh, and I bought Hydro Thunder on XBL 8-)

Made me wonder what was "Palcom" supposed to mean (I thought Motocross Maniacs was a Konami game). To think Nintendo used to be against third party companies publishing more than 5 games each for their systems...
Konami is mentioned on the title screen, though.
Vs com. is a stroke of genius. If only more GB games let me taste what multiplayer is about with just one cartridge.

Oh man, I loved that game as a kid. I remember taking some boring trip to somewhere with my parents and I just played that most of the time. Managed to clear the hardest difficulty, too.

Palcom was Konami's shell corporation in Europe, to get around Nintendo's restrictive licensing rules.

I see there's Antarctic Adventure on Konami GB Collection vol. 3/4. I wonder if it's not overambitious (being a pretty late GB game).

Blockbuster stores are going out of bussiness left and right here, so I scored a great deal on 6 games. 2 of those games were racing games.

Rebought Need for Speed: Hot Persuit and the new game is Blur 8-)

Forza III Ultimate Collection. Its nice to have stars next to the dlc cars, but having never played this entry, they don't tell you what tracks are dlc. Still great fun. PC copy of Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast has been ordered as well.

Wipeout 3 Special Edition. Man, it's been years since I last bought a PAL PS1 game. After a quick play I might still prefer Wipeout XL, though.

Went and bought one more white neGcon as a spare and this one was even boxed. So I now have two black ones and two white ones. Gotta keep the balance.

Bad news - PAL PS2 Nitrobike doesn't output 60 Hz. Good news - PAL conversion seems okay to me and, frankly, the framerate doesn't look any worse than 60 Hz-outputting Excite Truck. Which is not to say Nitrobike is quite as awe-inducing as Excite Truck (but the 4 player split-screen in the former has to count for something; I believe Excite Truck supports only 2).

P.S. My, my, The Perceptionists in Most Wanted. "Live from plantation" indeed.

haven't had the chance to try it yet. But it feels solid, and the twist mechanism feels smooth. I'm looking forward to playing Ridge Racer with it.

It was cheap, I paid £5 for Ridge Racer and £15 for the NegCon

Protip: DJ Atomica can be turned off. So can particular songs.

Star Wars Episode I Racer PAL seems awfully unoptimsed: 50 Hz-only, squished, 25 fps at best. Here's hoping 60 Hz can be forced somehow.

I know Gaelco is offering the rom for free now, but I still went and got a World Rally PCB. It's very cheap and affordable. I also got World Rally 2 coming in, really excited about that one.

Very nice.

Is there a list somewhere of which roms have become freeware?

MAME has such roms listed on their site, though World Rally isn't included for some reason. Not a whole lot of selection there, I'd say World Rally is the best of the bunch, along with being the newest game by far.

Speaking of which, any vehicular mods of usual suspects you'd recommend? I read of some UT2004 mod that is like Twisted Metal...

I picked up for the xbox Midnight Club II, and I'm pretty sure at some point I'll pick up both versions of Midnight Club 3 for the xbox as well. Saw 2 copies of that, one titled remix, and one that didn't say remix on the case. Also picked up the xbox port of the adventure game Syberia.
