GOG is having a sale on Interplay games, and Screamer is on the "Pay what you want"-list. So for as little as $0.99 you can have the PC equivalent of Ridge Racer, DRM-free 'n everything.

I actually like Screamer a whole lot, and back in 2011 I made Time Attack vids of its six tracks:

Palm Town - 01:20:25
Lake Valley - 02:04:61
Lindburg - 02:10:69
Palm Town Night - 02:11:57
Sunbeach Hill - 04:30:62
Sandrock - 02:45:52

I hope people pick it up, it's really fun.

Oh hey, Screamer is pretty neat. Bit blatant of a Ridge Racer clone, but it reminds me a bit of Daytona with how it handles [still a bit RR slippy-slidy though]. I wish DOSBox was faster, I'd really like to be able to play this at a reasonable framerate on this netbook, it's getting ~10 to 25fps...

Once I figure out how to get it to work on my Linux machine [shouldn't be hard, haven't tried], which is faster, I'll probably play it more.

And Dotemu's weekend sale has both FlatOut and FlatOut 2 at 60% off. DRM free, like with GOG.

I'm sure everybody knows there are a lot of Black Friday sales on Amazon, Steam and elsewhere going on, but I thought it worthy to point out that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is only 10 bucks this weekend of Steam. It's a great game, much better than the new Most Wanted in my opinion, and definitely worth of that much at least. Always up for a race on that one.

I've been glued to amazon.co.uk all week hoping for Forza horizon to go on sale. It didn't though, so I will pick it up some time in december.

Big Ubisoft sale on XBL this week.

Mad Riders is 400MSP ($5). I personally really liked the demo, so I went ahead and picked it up. Has sort of an Excite Truck kind of feel. We'll see.

You can also get Assassin's Creed II & Brotherhood for $10 apiece.

Hydro Thunder is on sale today for 400pts (save 67%) on XBLA

Is it worth it? Only played the arcade version once and I hear good things about the dreamcast one.

Yeah, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is certainly worth 400 points. We had it on Race of the Week back in October and much fun was had. Check the video here.

Steam's flash sale at the moment is Ridge Racer Unbounded for ~12 units of local currency. All DLC included. The sale's still going for nine more hours.

For that price I think I'll grab it.

FlatOut 1, 2, 3 & Ultimate Carnage are available bundled for 9.99USD on Steam right now.

What's the story on the Flatout series? From the trailer of 3, it looks a lot like the crazier burnouts.

Flatout Ultimate Carnage is one of my favorite arcade racers for xbox 360. It's not for people who doesn't like random elements because this game has lots of that. Debris everywhere as you smash other cars and the environtment but it makes for some fun racing, and this game is tough. Steering feels good, the cars are heavy and really feels solid on impact.

Stay away from flatout 3, it's garbage. Not made by Bugbear...
