Are you using IE? That seems to want to save it as a .txt file. With Chrome I can just click on the link and it saves fine.

If you Save As and it downloads as a .txt file, just remove the extension and place it to \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Microsoft\RalliSport Challenge\Ghost Cars\Hillclimb1Bf

Ok i'm really done this time  it took 2 + hrs of grinding to get this and near madness due to fucking those last corners many times on good runs. If you beat it ghegs you fully deserve it, i'm ready for a new course.

Ghost

I surprised myself by not only hitting 1:28, but that it took me mere 45 minutes of trying to get there. Credit where credit is due, your ghost helped out, I figured out a better line for one corner. However, your ghost also revealed the one weakness in the full digital controls -approach. Rather than hitting the pedal to the metal at the start, it's better to hold down the accelerator at ~20% and at GO swiftly but smoothly bring it to 100%. I was leaving your ghost behind on the starting line and had an advantage of 0.3 seconds at the first checkpoint.

yeah i had a bad feeling this would be another racer ruining itself with some secret/special starting technique, that just turns me completely off the game tbh so i'll call it a day and play something else. Congrats even if it is precisely 0.3 victory from a special start

I wouldn't exactly call "bring acceleration to full throttle steadily and don't just ram it in" to be a special technique...I mean, that's how you'd handle a real car as well, right? Certainly different from the start boost techniques in Mario Kart or Wipeout or whatnot.

Though I finished 0.3 seconds faster, it's a bit of a coincidence that it's the same amount as the difference at start. Out of the course's six sections, I was faster on three, you were faster on three. So it was a close battle all the way.

Well not special but a clear advantage over someone who doesn't have the means to do it which is a shame because an uneven playing field is not worth bothering with, i should of kept the ghost private so the monkey gamers have to figure something out for themselves for a change ;)

You obviously like the game, so why not just pick up a pad with analog capabilities, they have been the standard for gaming for about two decades now. You'd be able to use it in other games as well, not just racing ones, and be able to full bring out your full potential in games that don't work as well with digital-only controls. And you'd still be able to use it in digital-only games as well.

I can understand not wanting to get a wheel, those are expensive, take up space, can be annoying to set up each time you want to use them, and are only good for one genre, but a gamepad is pretty much a low investment / high return -deal.

nah i'm only bantering ghegs, just gonna take a break and come back to it later. I actually replicated the quicker start but it's pretty random with digi, but i still think i can beat it as i've had better pace all the way but always lose it on that last damn corner which you took REALLY well. You going to attack the 3rd course now or move to downhill/another hill?

You really really really couldn't make this up

I don't know if it's the same kind of boost but i figured that apparently not pressing throttle until exact on the go arrow does indeed give faster accel but not by enough to really matter unless you get a god run.

I've been quietly working on the Ridge for two weeks, I wanted to finish my time on this track with a bang. I think I've spent closer to 20 hours running the course in total now.
