Does this mean a new project or just some rehash classic ported to ps3/ps4/xbone?
I've played alot of their racing games. Most of the Shutokou series from ps1/sat to dc/ps2
And of course the Wangan Midnight game on ps3. Even though the cars handle a bit like boats, they're still cool games.

I know what you mean! I prefer their non-boat like racers, i.e. Rally Challenge 2000 and the Kaido Racer games. A new Kaido could be a possibility I think. Those games are what I most associate with the Genki Racing Project label.

There's a site and a countdown, which ends on January 5: http://www.sb-x.jp/

Famitsu App, Famitsu’s smartphone application-dedicated website, posted about the countdown website, meaning that it might turn out to be a smartphone game.

Nevertheless, I'll look forward whether they can make better drift simulator than those western drift simulators on Android.

The gt-r looks very weird. No way this is going to be a console game with stupid art like this.
http://www.sb-x.jp/ So, now I think 99,99% Chance of a smart phone game.

So, now I think 99,99% Chance of a smart phone game.

It could be like every other of those card/gacha-collecting mobages then.

Sad.

Hopefully, this will be a stepping stone to a bigger, non-mobile release. But I'm ok with this. At worst, I'll hate it, and still have all the previous games in the series to go back to.

But it would be nice if it was a good game, and not a slot machine. Here's hoping it turns out good, and isn't completely ruined by ridiculously priced IAP. One thing on it's side is that coming into money in the Xtreme racer games was always time-consuming, so I guess it would be same-old/same-old in that respect :P

It's sad to see they went with a mobile cash-in rather than another TXR game, I'm afraid we don't get many games made like that any more.

Yeah, I'm really sad to see it's one of those touch-drifting games. Well, hopefully if does well with the casual crowd and opens the door for another true installment of the franchise on consoles. I won't hold my breath, but it would be nice to see.
