Is anyone interested in playing this together? Theres a bunch of cool new touge tracks nowadays to race in. Spent the last few nights just racing all night with whoever I could find. Sure racing mechanics are not that "in depth" , but there are still ways to go faster than before. Sadly didn't film any of my battles, as I get some FPS drop when filming, so you have to take my word on it that it was fun ; D

I haven't played any GTA game since GTA 3 on PS2.

What would one need to get into this? Do I have to play the regular game at all?

this looks heavily modded, gta sa cars had pretty awful physics if my memory serves me well

that's unlikely, from my experience with SAMP, multiplayer gta servers can be very different from a regular game.

you need to install a multiplayer client for GTA SA, MTA in this case, i'm not sure if mods that you need are downloaded when you join a server or you need to install them manually, i haven't used MTA, only SAMP.

You need just a few things, its very easy to get into in this day and age : )

1. Clean install of GTA : San andreas ( no patches applied of any sort ), cracks and so on - is ok.
2. download and install MTA client https://mtasa.com/
3. Run the MTA client ( you dont ever need to run, or play or do anything in the original GTA:SA )
4. Connect to the server of your choice. Server downloads and installs automatically all the required custom content and stores it in separate folder ( so you can join many different servers without having to worry about files getting corrupted )

Short description about servers :
The server the video I made in is called Land of Rising sun https://vk.com/japan_mta
It features a few touge tracks featured in Initial D series and some japanese circuits and drift circuits used in drift events. It has a dozen of custom cars available as well

There are other servers out there which are for all kinds of other things, for example :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRktBx6v8t0&t=803s
This server was mostly just simple free roam, but it had all cars featured in the fast and furious movies.
Most servers allow players to open "Handling editor" by pressing "B" while being inside of a vehicle. This allows players to tune their handling to fit their needs, but on most racing servers the handlings are preset for balance reasons and to make things more competitive.

On this server, it was sort of a full conversion of Need for speed Underground 2 into GTA SA.
It used normal/stock GTA SA cars, but allowed a lot of customization, tuning and it had match making for drift events/race events and so on, and of course free roam.

These kind of very arcade style racing servers used to be popular, they still might be, but I dont frequent them so I cant say much about it.

In short,
Just connect to the server that you want, it will install all required things and load them automatically whenever you join the server.

Simple plug and play.

Well, that sounds simple enough. I'll keep an eye out for a cheap GTA SA, shouldn't be more than a few bucks on sale.
